The Alfred Wegener Institute, Helmholtz Centre for Polar and Marine Research is Germany´s largest
marine research centre. In FACE-IT, the Alfred Wegener Institute will be responsible for data access from state-of-the-art underwater observatories installed in Svalbard and the Fram Strait, and for unique quantitative analyses of benthic vegetation changes as a main driver of transitions in biodiversity and the state of borealization as well as of productivity and ecosystem functioning.
