Our role in the project
The Greenland Institute of Natural Resources conducts research and monitors the living resources and the environment in Greenland and advises the Government of Greenland and other authorities on sustainable exploitation of living resources and safeguarding the environment and biodiversity. The institute also manages marine monitoring programs and research projects on marine ecosystems and the effects of climate change in Greenland. The institute hosts a long data series on marine ecosystem parameters and (socio-)ecological data of significance to all research areas of FACE-IT. The Greenland Institute of Natural Resources provides high amounts of significant data and facilitates the access to research sites and local communities in Greenland. Moreover, it significantly contributes to research on the changes in ecosystem functioning.
