Western Norway Research Institute

The Western Norway Research Institute (Stiftinga Vestlandsforsking) is particularly experienced in the research of ecological impacts to local socio-economy. It will specifically address the linkages of a changing cryosphere and changing biodiversity to tourism activities because of the steadily growing significance of the tourism sector in the high Arctic to local economy but potentially also to environmental disturbance. Consequently, the research of the Western Norway Research Institute also contributes substantially to the transdisciplinary synthesis of FACE-IT.
